    as someone who is a HUGE Mastodon fan, and super stoked that the band is recording with Brendan O'Brien i have to say that song does total melt faces.... HOWEVER the vocals on this track are pretty weak...

    Well i told myself to be ready to hear a slighlty non metal track as i guess the album is not going to be as heavy. It seems like with each album they get less and less heavy which i'm not going to complain about, but this song seemed to lack teeth. I wonder if it will sound heavier live.

    The vocals seem much higher in the mix then usual. I'm not going to say it is bad because i like it a lot i just wish it had a little more punch particularly towards the end.

    I agree with the topic of this thread, I've had my face melted by this band twice in concert and can't wait to hear the new album live as well.

    Brendan O'Brien's production is top notch, can't wait to hear more!
    The last PJ show I went to was the best PJ show ever, that is until they come around again of course

    March 24th is what they said in their latest interview but i don't think that is in stone.

    I'd also heard March 24, but all they're saying for sure is "spring". So that's the earliest it'll be out.

    i didn't dig Blood Mountain too much and if I find this record sub-par it will be the last Mastodon I will buy. that is all.

    I think there are 2 parts in the song where it goes into one of the juiciest riffs ever.
