Why would only one headlight go out and not both?

Ive got an 06 Accord, never replaced the headlights and the front right one just went out the otherday. How is it possible that they dont both go out at the same time if they both get used exactly the same amount?

    I'm sure he knows they are different light bulbs. The reason is that manufacturing processes are not perfect and when someone actually makes a part it is made to fit into some specific range of specifications rather than an exact one.
