Considering going to music Festival (Coachella?)

Always wanted to go to one, and I really feel this desire, or need to go to one.
Coachella will be announced tomorrow and as I am into the indie scene, that seems like a cool one to head to.
But cant go wrong going to Bonnaroo or Lollapalooza either.
At this point I will be only going to one, but its fun to daydream...
is anyone else going?
I remember last year in Rolling stone, they had pictures of Bonnaroo and some kid was saying how, after attending, he felt his life was changed, and that he wasnt sure what to do with his life.
I want that experience. Anything less will be a waste.
And with the many bands that attend these festivals I dont think its an unreasonable goal

I've been to every Coachella since 2001, and went to Lolla last year.
To me, Lolla didn't have much of a communal feeling...it was very crowded, and very corporate. A very mainstream crowd, and the line-up was relatively "safe".
Coachella draws a bit more of an "indie" crowd, and the promoter always strives to book more adventurous bands, so there is always a chance to discover something new. Coachella has also been very successful in getting bands to reunite.0 -
I've been to Coachella the last two years and absolutely loved both trips. I live in New York City so it's kind of a big expense to get out there, rent the house, etc., but it's money well spent. The venue itself is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to see live music."This is about as perfect a crowd as you can get. I hate to placate, I ain't placating...." - EV, 9/29/960

Living in south L.A., I'm about a 2.5 - 3 hour trip from Coachella, but I've never gone!
TV on the Radio and Animal Collective are rumored to be among the many performing...I might have to go this year...it just seems like it'd be miserable in 105 degree heat in April, but oh well.0 -
2007's lollapalooza was pretty awesome, and I have nothing bad to say about my experience. as far as the coachella line up goes.... The Killers as the headliner? its gonna be a pretty piss poor line up no matter what festival you go to. Its all going to be the same line ups like last year. Just pray the Jack Johnson dosent decide to headline everything again... puke!0

the only festival that i've been to (aside from old lolla stops) is ACL. i've been the last 3 years and have had an absolute blast every time. the lineups are so eclectic and the after shows are amazing. the tix are reasonable for 3-day passes & the venue & transportation to/from Zilker Park is great. just my .02!! 8-)I LOVE MUSIC.

Faith No More were rumored to play and I was really hoping it would happen. I was willing to fly cross country to see that. However, Patton is gonna be performing with Rahzel instead, so that should be fun. Although, that's not quite worth the trip for me. Bummer.0
