I'm going to check out the Kings of Leon tonight in East Lansing, MI. What should I expect? I've heard a lot of good things about their live shows. I hear their drummer is a show all in himself. I'm pretty psyched about this.

Chickens. Expect chickens... they have a flock of them onstage. They feed them and trim their wings. They also gives people pony rides, but only if the people are small enough to not crush the ponies.

I jest... just I always find it funny when people ask what to expect... uhhh... music maybe? ;) They're good, they sound very similar to the albums but have a lot of energy. I saw them on Halloween and had a blast.

  • IM SO JEALOUS, I don't get how people don't like this band. I thought it really sucked that their last show in Chicago was at the house of blues for a ridiculous amount of money. (not close to the Pearl Jam 2005 show, :D but still out of my range) I've seen them at Lollapalooza before PJ and at Virginia Beach before PJ they always put on a great show. Now I just really want to see them headline their own show. I really enjoyed their new album, I want to hear Sex on Fire and Need Somebody live really badly

I think that show was for charity. Still, the Hold Steady played the HoB for charity and tickets were normally priced. I missed that show though cos it was one of those night where it was 30 below and I wasn't going outside.

Did you try to go to the KoL show in Chicago on Halloween? That was an awesome one... the band on fire and every hot Chicago girl in the crowd in slutty costumes... it was heavenly!

I wanted to go really badly, but no one wanted to go with me because it was Halloween. stupid right? I'm 18 now i figured that Halloween excitement was over i just went to the blackhawks game instead. I wasn't too happy about that night haha I figured it would be an awesome time
  • The show was amazing. These guys sound even better live then they do on their studio stuff. When a band can pull that off they are good in my book. If you haven't seen the Kings of Leon live yet do it as soon as you can. They mentioned being in Michigan again sometime this summer. So I'm sure they will be touring other states as well.

I was at the East Lansing show and they were good, but I thought they had more energy when I saw them in Cleveland in 07. Probably had to do with the fact that they didn't have the slow songs off the new album in the repertoire. The guy working the soundboard gave me a set list, which was cool.

Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.
