I want to train my brain.

I wish I could do large multiplication problems in my head, quickly. Is it possible to learn how to do that stuff, or is it something you have to be born with?
Unfortunately my brain has only been trained to manage hotel operations but i believe I am smarter than that and wish I could make my brain work more quickly.

Something Ive always wanted to be better at is- looking at a given number of objects and accurately saying how many there are. Like if there were 25 marbles laid out on the floor- a quick glance and then look away and be able to confirm how many there were.
Does anyone think like this, know someone who thinks like this or wishes they could think like this?

Are you hoping to transition from hotels to carnivals? What good would that skill do you?

I think these kinds of skills are inborn though.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I agree... I'm SHITE at maths... but i've always been good at calculating large figures in my head... often before people use the calculator (I'm not talking on an autistic level here.. but general figures) but if there are 25 marbles in front of me... I'd probably guess 50  I'm also UNBELIEVABLY shite at guessing measurements... the room I'm in at the mo... could be anything between 2 and 6 metres wide  or I couldn't guess half a pint of liquid unless i have a pint glass or measuring jug.

I think you can train your brain to do a lot of things if you do it in gradual chunks. If you want to learn how to do something like this, try doing it with larger and larger groups of things. Every time you master a small group, the next day try something a bit larger until it becomes comfortable, then the next day enlarge the group.

Our brains are made to expand if we do it gradually.
