Haven't drank the Coldplay koolaid yet. With the exception of the one song that they are accused of stealing from Joe Satriani, most of their music makes me want to kill myself.
But I've never seen them live. Glad you enjoyed the show!

I listened to most of it on youtube. Still not sure what all the hype is about. Just not really into the band I guess.

first two records are great-give them time to grow on you-you tube is not the way to listen to music
X&Y was decent, but this recent one is horrible
it sounds contrived and the lyrics are corny

lose the production Chris and go back to writing great simple melodies

Wow you listened to an album on youtube?

    Eww, dirty dirty quality.

Eh, I don't think the sound quality was the issue. Chris Martin's voice just doesn't do it for me.
Thom Yorke can pull of the high pitched-to-the-creaking point style, Martin, not so much.
Coldplay is the most overrated band of the last decade if you ask me.

I happen to be loving the tracks I've heard off of Mylo Xyloto, especially Paradise! And I'm liking the experimentation they've been doing (and I'm a big fan of their earlier stuff, too!) Yet to see them live though, definitely hope to in the near future!

Surprisingly good live show when I saw them. I went in with low expectations, and it was quite good.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

They are a really good band for chick music, which is not a bad thing. They know guys hate them and would never admit to listening to them if they did at all; very self deprecating.

I've seen them live a few times and they put on a great show. Parachutes is kinda depressing and good for rainy days. I think their best is A Rush of Blood to the Head, their second.

Know anyone needing/wanting Coldplay tickets for Montreal? A girl in my class is trying to get rid of a pair.

A couple friends of mine saw them in DC and said the show was unbelievable. Good to hear, seeing them 2 weeks from today. Anyone see them this tour?

I saw the, in Philly back on July 5, wow! I have seen them once before, after x&y came out and they were good but this was unreal. Their set, lights, other things that I won't spoil, just fantastic. They really have perfected their live show in my opinion. I am not their biggest fan, but I do enjoy their music, but that show was something else. Let me know what you think

saw em on viva la vida tour...was good...seemed like they did same EXACT routine for every show tho..was very rehearsed down to all the small details...dont care for mylo xyloto much at all but X and Y is incredible

Fantastic show tonight, what they did with those wristbands really was something else! Lots of energy live, even during the slower songs. Crowd was fairly calm but very, very loud (one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard), which was awesome. Charlie Brown with all those lights, Warning Sign, and a goosebump inducing Fix You were highlights!

Ya know, I'm a big fan of their first two records. I guess I'd have to take the opportunity to see them as I've heard numerous times that they do themselves justice in concert.

Warning Sign is awesome - just kind of re-discovered that song recently.

Seems like they're always repaeting theirselves. Shame, liked Parachutes and A rush of blood to the head a lot.
  • loved X and Y and Rush of Blood
  • im a big fan. Just fun pop rock and roll. Theyve undeniably written some incredible songs. Clocks still inspires awe in me. Talk is great. Green Eyes is beautful. Warning Sign. The Scientist. Incredible band.

These are some of my favorite Coldplay songs as well. Have you heard the b-side Proof from the X&Y era, fits with the songs you mentioned.

Looking for a ticket to the NYE Coldplay/Jay Z show at Barclays Center in the BK in case anyone has a spare that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Looking for a good seat either on floor or first level.

Didn't think I would enjoy seeing Coldplay but after Chris Martin's 121212 performance I'm starting to really like the idea of ringing in the new year with music!

Coldplay is a great live band as well, believe it or not. I really wanted a ticket for this show as well. I tried the day they went on sale but no luck. I can't wait until PJ plays this venue.
