Just recently made the switch to the Mac book from my old Dell. I don't know jack about it yet at all. I'm trying to watch a couple videos and it's not allowing me to do so. It opens real player and then says "unsupported document type" and doesn't play. Any ideas or solutions?

Thanks.

    what is the file type?

if it's like a .wmv you'll need to download windows media viewer for mac
    condescending and sarcastic since 1980
  • you kidding me?...dude...macs just "work"....think it , and it will be.

the snosberries taste like snosberries........could be a missing codec
If a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?
  • If it's a .wmv video, you'll need to download flip4mac and you'll be able to watch the video with quicktime.

Another cool freeware to read videos is VLC.

Like what Igotshit said, download VLC also.... it plays basically any video format. Another good program is Roxio crunch, it lets you rip videos in different formats for your ipod. You can also convert DVD's as well. You can find a torrent for it.

oh and good switchover. I switched over in November and will never go back.
