Perfect Fathers Day for my dad. Topped off with a pearler from my 5yo.

My Dad was thanking Mr K for being such a good boy all day and how that made fathers day extra special for him, Mr K turns around and says " Thankyou for saying that Grumpa, that was very nice of you!" :D

    Ahhh what a gem!
  • I had lunch with a friend today whom I haven't seen in years. Turns out she lives just across the river from here so we went to the Market for lunch and it was lovely. :)

  • I better get this in now because this day is almost earlier. Today my son and I were at Lowe's to quickly pick up something before his weekly speech therapy appointment. The man in front of me at the check out line overheard me telling him that we had to hurry because we had to get downtown asap. He told me that I should go in front of him because he wasn't in a hurry. I told him that was ok, he didn't have to do that, but he insisted. He also reminded me to be careful driving (it rained all day here today). Anyway, this is just something small that makes your day a little better. Most people would rather knock you down to beat you to the check out, but he was kind and thoughtful. It might sound silly, but it did make my day to know that there are some people still out there who do think of others, no matter how small of a gesture. :)

This is belated, but had a great Labor Day weekend. Went to NH on Saturday with the wife as she was running a half marathon. Got up to NH (Keene) around 4pm on Saturday, went to a brewery, checked into our hotel and then went biking downtown. It was beautiful. She ran her marathon Sunday morning, came back and showered, we checked out and we biked the covered bridge route of the marathon. Absolutely beautiful. Not prime leaf peeping season, but the covered bridges, trees, lakes etc, ahhhhh! Went to the brewery for a snack and then to Hennicker for dinner. Got back to South Shore Mass at 10:30 pm Sunday night and then took a ferry Monday morning over to the Vineyard for Labor Day. Dining on shrimp, Coronas and mixed drinks while listening to good music and then biking to the beach makes me realize why Massachusetts and New England kick ass. Just a great weekend. Of course, biking back to our car and me biking ahead of my wife Monday night and she getting annoyed for not waiting for her quickly brought me back to earth.
