Thanks Anna.
It was really unexpected: these exams are pretty tough.
There's a keen competition. We were basically around 1400 for 120 jobs. I passed the first exam (a written one). Only 360 qualified for the second exam (an oral session: a class sequence to elaborate with a document I was given and an oral account of an audio file. I had to synthesize it and to link it to close topics that seemed to me to be relevant enough to be mentioned).
Actually, it's difficult to explain how it works. You have traditional exams at the university, it's what we refer as "examens" (in French) but, in this situation, it's a "Concours" (some kind of competitive examination).
You never know what the Jury really wants to hear, the system is really opaque.http://zarofflegroupe.free.fr/indexA.htm

how sweet! The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Félicitations! Concours are so bloody hard.
A suprise Skype from a lovely friend I haven't seen/spoken to in a long time made my all fuzzy inside0 -
Merci Rita.
It is indeed bloody hard. I haven't done anything but worked on it the past ten months (except for my job, of course).
This is a relief!!!
I was so demoralized after the oral session: I was convinced I had completely failed. It's been a huge surprise when I saw the results on the net.http://zarofflegroupe.free.fr/indexA.htm

I was pretty pissed off at Comcast, I have been dealing with a shitty modem for the last month and tried to exchange it for a new one several times, more recently, Monday. Well the guy at the Comcast store basically said that I was SOL for internet-there were out of stock on modems. So I called Comcast, told them I wasn't happy, and they are sending me a new one-along with free Showtime.
I also ordered a new modem from amazon on Monday just to see which company was faster at getting me a new modem...the winner is amazon!
Now when I get the one from Comcast, I'm going back to the store and telling the guy there where he can stick it.The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
