I can't go on pretending
living this life
pretending this is
the life I wanted
knowing what's out there
knowing I can be free
knowing I can be me

I can't go on living
thinking this is all there is
pretending I am happy
living just for you
knowing what it is I want
knowing I can be free
knowing I can be me

I can't go on saying
these lies every day
thinking they are what you want
to hear from me
knowing what lies in my heart
knowing I can be free
knowing I can be me

I can’t go on hoping
I’ll fall in love with you again
Wishing for what it is we had
But knowing it’s long gone
Knowing the love’s long gone
Knowing I can be free
Knowing I can be me

I can’t go on preventing
you from having what you deserve
thinking my false love
should be enough for you
knowing you are worthy of so much more
knowing I can be free
knowing I can be me


I can’t go on depriving
My self of true love
Pretending I don’t justify
The love that’s been offered to me
Knowing it’s out there waiting
Knowing I can be free
Knowing I can be me

After all that’s has happened
After all we’ve been through
you did what you had to do
I am glad that you set me free
I am glad I now can be me

    thanks goddess.... the false love is what he offered. I tried to write it from Marc's perspective.

    thanks.... but there was a good 4 year period where I now know the falsities to what he portrayed. :roll:

    ive discovered that after so many times of allowing a behaviour sometimes it takes just that one more time for it to be enough. that the last time they lie is what is needed for you to finally step away. at least thats what ive found out recently.

    but just remember we cant do anything about the past, but the future is yet to be written. and you must be its author. :)
