So was kind of a big day, Obama actually did some newsworthy things in his first day-dealing with gitmo and lobbyists...and there's Anderson Cooper and his big story-about Michele Obama's dress.
therealnews.com is at least decent.

I'm almost ashamed to say this,
but i'm pretty big on Rachel Maddow.
She isn't NEARLY as stuipdly partisan and overblown as Olberman,
she isn't giving Obama (or anyone) a pass just for being a super-lib,
and she is actually continuing to do a good job at analysing the ISSUES,
asking tough questions, has on good guests, and makes some pretty valid points.
For example, yesterday she reported on everything Obama did on his first day,
and refered to his freezing of pay as "largely symbolic" and kind've shrugged it off as a "nice gesture",
and had some serious questions to ask about the effectiveness of his policy on lobbyists.
She went in to his "war cabinet" and said, "if you're thinking this sounds a lot like BUSH's war cabinet, you're right, they are basicaly identical. NOT MUCH CHANGE THERE." She then moved on to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, mentioned the fact that Bush preempted Obama by signing a binding agreement with Israel, and that Obama's office yesterday issued a statement that Obama "fully supported the agreement" ... Rachel then said, "No change there either." She did all this in a most balanced fashion, stating what he did good, and not being afraid to step out of her Lib-Hat and say things that were a direct scrutiny of Obama.
For a self professed liberal, i am VERY impressed with her ability to remain honest, non-partisan, and inquisitive in her journalistic efforts.
You will probably never hear her dig in to "deep politics" per se, but on daily issues she is pretty spot on.
Outside of CNBC, Maddow is the only show i can really tolerate for news (i might watch Charlie Rose if he has a particularly interesting guest on).
If I opened it now would you not understand?
to say she is not as stupidly partisian as keith overbite is like saying chris mathews isnt as conservative as rush limbaugh.
i kind of like maddow, would like her better if she hosted a non news show. i just dont think someone with her openly liberal (or if she was conservative) credentials should be hosting a "news" show. she might be thinking the change that obama promised isnt as big as what people hoped, but its clear she openly supported him for president. if you are reporting on the news, the viewer should not know your bias. unfortunately good journalism rarely exists these days
I would totally have gay sex with Rachel Maddow.
Hail, Hail!!!
Thats what i think too, Commy.
"Real" journalism has been dead for decades.
I don't give two shits if Maddow is an openly Democratic partisan.
In truth, i PREFER it.
At least you KNOW the bias going in to it.
On the other hand, as you say, her very ability to be ABOVE her partisan affiliation and not be BLIND to transgressions, broken campaign promises, and bad decisions, AND TO ACTUALLY REPORT ON IT does say alot about a person.
Once again, i don't think you'll ever hear Rachel Maddow do hard hitting reporting on the CFR, Bilderberg, Trilateral, or the quiet agenda for "global governance", but at LEAST she is open about her partisan opinions, and DOES NOT LET THAT BLIND HER to the everyday political reality.
And, as much as one can view that as a great accomplishment for a Mainstream Media Personality, i am forced to say "I Heart Rachel Maddow".
If I opened it now would you not understand?
