Audiophiles and Vinyl people, I need your help!
Hey everyone. I have been looking around to buy a cheap turntable and I found one recently from someone that is selling it. The turntable itself is apparently an Aiwa PX E-55. Anyone know anything about them and their quality? It is being sold with and Aiwa MW/SW1/FM 4 BAND stereo tuner, stereo integrated amplifier, hi speed dubbing--stereo double cassette deck and a pair of aiwa speakers. It is offered to me for $95. It is in good condition, I have seen it all, just wondering if anyone can comment on the quality. I am not looking for anything great or anything super expensive because this is my first turntable, just want something that works. Any info is greatly apprecaited. Cheers.

It makes zero sense to get a crappy turntable and not take advantage of the full sound of records.
You may as well get an 8- track player.

Thanks for that, great help
The one person said it best, 95 bucks won't even buy a good needle if you want Sound snob sound. $300.00 bucks is the lowest you'd spend on a great sounding table. If you just ant a turn table to spin them and don't care too much about a+ quality then buy your first record player and enjoy the fuck out of it, since you don't have anything to compare it too you'll love it
Just understand if you want to go separates some turntables don't have a phono pre-out and they will sound like shit if you patch them into your receiver(unless the amp has a phono in) basically the pre-amp converts the cables on your turntable to a regular level your amp will like. Some turntable also require a grounding wire as well. Some pre-amps will have that as well as your receiver may have a grounding screw. BBS sells a starter phono preamp.
in otherwords, before you buy know what you are buying, what you will need if anything more to hook it up.
Get some groove glide too!
Bought a $50 stylus and paired it with my Polk RTi8 Speakers. Gorgeous sounds.

Buy cheap...and that's exactly what you're going to get.
Personally, I wouldn't touch anything priced under $300-$400
There are some great tables on the market like the Denon DP300F, as well as some of the Project players, which are priced in the above range.
They are great tables for someone like yourself who is just dipping your feet in the water.
I recently bought the Denon DP300F and I've been having a blast spinning my vinyl. It's a great table and comes with a decent cartridge/stylus...which if you really wanted to shell out the dough...you could easily replace with something a little more high end.
Even with the basic set up...The sound is just fantastic, and it's completly automatic.
I realize that true Audiophiles usually go for manual drives...but I'm just too lazy and my A.D.D is just too severe to waste my time spending so much detail on something that can be done for me automatically. This way I can walk out of the room, pass out on the couch and not worry about having to set the tone arm back.
Basically my table does what it needs to do...and that's all I need for now.
I get to kick back and spin some of my favorite black.
Anyways...Here's a link for ya
