i got a new memory foam pillow over the weekend. OMG. i took a nap yesterday just because it felt so good with the pillow. i highly recommend if you don't have one. i still have a pillow underneath it because i usually sleep with 2, but it's made a difference in my quality of sleep.

it's the little things, really lol

I haven't found them to be. It's different than a normal foam pillow. been on one for almost a year now, love it.

was on sale, and had good reviews, so i figured no harm in trying it out :)
  • I like the latex better than memory foam

no fans of milk pillows then?
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

patrick - what is the difference that you find between latex vs. foam?

I find the latex is an excellent medium between a normal pillow and the mem foam. The latex with all the little holes breathes better, doesn't get all hot and doesn't get stiff. Try one.

ah okay thanks for the info! i'll see how this one treats me, if i find it getting too hot/stiff then i'll check the latex one out :)

now i want a nap just because lol
  • I liked my memory foam until we went to Sleepy's to buy a new mattress and they let us use the latex....it was no contest. If you like, that's all that matters though:)

yeah so far so good, as long as it keeps form it should be okay. it has a 7-year warranty so i got that filed away just in case :) just nice how something as simple as a pillow makes such a huge difference
  • I gotta get one of them  I've been having serious issues with pillows the past year or so and sometimes I sleep with none at all  just cos I can't deal with them. Gonna have to try the memory foam pillow... but we have a memory foam mattress and I can't stand it.

what is it that you don't like about the memory foam mattress? maybe check out the latex one like patrickbateman mentioned?

My boyfriend loves it though and claims he's never slept as well as he does on this... I think it's gonna be a big issue when we move house. BUT the memory foam is fucking up my back... since i moved over and sleeping on the new mattress, I've been walking with a limp for the past few months and it IS comfy... it's certainly comfy... BUT I'm waking up all kindsa stiff that I've never experienced before and I find that it kinda rolls towards the middle  It takes me hours to fall asleep but I've had back problems before so I'm not blaming the mattress... but it's definitely to blame for bringing the issues BACK.

ah well maybe you need something that gives your back more support then? there are these sleep number beds here in the states, maybe you guys have htem there too. you can adjust the firmness for either side, so each partner gets the right back support for their needs.

perhaps the contour foam pillow would help since that is supposed to be better for your back? i wish you luck in finding something that will help you feel good and sleep well! :)

Thank you :) well the least i can do is try better pillows... cos the ones we have are just simple cheap pillows... and if that doesn't work, well I'll have to look into something else. I just feel like I'm crippling myself at the mo :( and i really really need to do something about that before it becomes irreversible.

have you seen a chiropractor about it? they can best advise you on the pillow tip, along with anything else that could help with your back probs.

Only years ago... ok well not a chiropractor but a physio... but it's a recurring problem, a slipped disc, but that's a good idea though... I'll try that :)

owwie! yeah see if you can get an appt and see what they say. perhaps it could be something as simple as a better pillow and somehow adding more support to your side of the bed :D

never used a foam pillow, but would like to try one out one night.

but what i really want is the tempur-pedic pillows... but those are pricey as hell.

Sleepys wanted 130 for 2 latex pillows, and although they were friggin awesome, I went the cheap way and got the laex pillow Target or Walmart or something for $20 and love it.
