How far in advance does pearl jam usually make a release date announcenent for a studio album.
Wasn't it about 2 months for the last album? Is that the norm?

Last time it was 2 months (March 1/May 2):

I think the timing depends on the label, and since they dont have a label as of now according to that Reuters article, they could pull a Radiohead or NIN and say "we have a new album, you can get it *here*" or they could do the usual 2-3 month wait/promotion period.

neil finn was asked why eddie didn't make it 7 worlds collide this year and his response was that pearl jam are putting out a new album in 2009 and they are in the studio.

Somebody mentioned that Mike said there'd be a tour similiar to the 2008 tour hitting places they haven't played in a while. don't remember who said it.

Hmm ... ROAD TRIP! It will be hard to hit as many shows as I did in 2008, but I will definitely make it to a handful of shows, wherever they play.

haha, well we speculated it could be anywhere from June to September. September is obviously out for us, I could live with June or July. I would prefer them over August.

September is a good month  ..and they could always play Seattle or Vancouver then.. (though would the US border let you cross?)

I hope they go the Radiohead route but I've a feeling they may want the financial/promotional backing of a label behind them for the largest chance of exposure. Who knows?

It'd be cool to see something late Spring with a summer and fall tour schedule. I'm with Sandra - September's always a good month for shows :)

playing Seattle or Vancouver in Spetember sounds like you were talking about shows to me... and everyone else that has eyes.

    :P
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I still hope for a new albulm in or around May with shows after that. If they do release it as a download, I hope they release Cd's as well.

I was responding to EquallyWorthless post.. knowing why September is not a good month for them I was referring to September as a good month for that
