I'm sure this thread will be highjacked by the "anti-Obama" crowd on this board, but damn it feels good to say goodbye to the last eight years. I've been lucky enough to have had worked with President Obama back when he was still an Illinois Senator and while he was campaigning for the US Senate. To me the feeling is unreal. This is a good and honest man.

That is all. Take it away "anti-Obama" crowd...

It's wonderful to say that 'President Obama' :)

And for the anti-Obama crowd... It is still is a remarkable achievement for this country today. And for so many to have such hope is a great thing for any country. Whether things DO change is yet to be seen, but there is a feeling among the citizens that Has changed, at least where I am. I am hopeful for this country for the first time in my life and its a great feeling!

    Congratulation America!

You seem to have got it right this time, in a big way (and certainly not possibly worse than the last 8 years).

Hope is alive, lets help it all along.

Seeing Bush get on Marine One was fantastic...now in about five minutes when he gets on Air Force One and I see it take off...now THAT will be worth watching.

The speech was OK, but certainly wasn't his best. I'm just happy W is gone. It is a good day.

As much as I don't trust that a Democrat could actually bring about progressive social change in the way that I would like to see it happening, I am really pleased by this day. It felt like it would never come.

Decidedly the end of an error. Thank goodness we get the chance to self-correct.

If anything, at least he gives good speeches. That will be refreshing.

Sure did. Glad all the troops are home and safe, the wars are over, the country is making money, and there are no more sick children!

i agree with this. had bush done the same thing he would have replaced reagan as the republican's patron saint...

Obama now has the heads of two of the world's most wanted fugitives mounted above his fireplace mantle.

Let's see if he can go for the trifecta and add Anwar al-Awlaki before the next election.

    edit:

Holy fuckballs! I didn't know he got Anwar al-Awlaki already! Must have happened while I was out fishing.

I'll score that as a Turkey. One more for a Hambone!
