  • I saw scott last friday in austin. There's actually an article about it on rollingstone.com

I expected the worst after reading about different people's experiences from this board, but I was pleasantly surprised. He played four STP songs and wasn't too drunk to perform. All around, a good time.

I saw him in Austin as well. Pleasantly surprised, he seemed to be on the wagon (looked much better than when i saw him nearly a year earlier with Velvet Revolver). Great frontman that you expect but the songs from the new album were very hit or miss but entertaining anyway. Just watch out for all of the yuppy pricks using their blackberries on the outskirts when they play the opening riff for Interstate Lovesong -- it was like a bag of money was dropped the way they ran towards the stage because they actually knew a song, lol.

That's good to hear. I saw a youtube clip of him on a bus on his way to Austin and he seemed sober.

    And he looked good too.

Both shows are available at some torrent sites.

There's an FM recording of the Atlanta show on dime.

I love Weiland's new album, Happy (in Galoshes). I have the Best Buy double-disc edition, the 2nd disc is very good, too!

That being said, I wish Weiland was coming around here, but sadly he is not.

how come I don't believe you? it just does not seem like something you would like. you like some of the same (old) bands like my husband....he does not like scott's new cd (except I don't have a double one). We could not go to his concert last night. Really bad weather and I've got a cold. At least the tix were not expensive. But I'm disappointed.

I like Weiland, the new album is very good! It's not an every day album, but it's pretty dope.

Folks who have bought the Best Buy Special Edition - have you gotten your free t-shirt yet? :) I have not; I registered for it on Jan 8.

  • I saw Scott last Saturday here in Minneapolis. I was impressed with the show and he was sober! There wasn't an opening act, the band started playing and after maybe a minute Scott came dancing out and they started on a jam leading into the Smiths tune Reeling around the Fountain. The show started off slow but Vaseline got everyone into it. I was surprised by how much jamming the band did, they extended a lot of songs. Scott didn't say much and never introduced the band but he did seem to be enjoying himself.

    Here's the setlist-

    Reel Around The Fountain
    Killing Me Sweetly
    Vasoline
    Paralysis
    Mockingbird Girl
    Atlanta
    Big Black Monster
    Unglued
    Blind Confusion
    California Is Where I'm From
    Interstate Love Song
    Fame
    Barbarella
    Encore-
    Beautiful Day
    Missing Cleveland

I got mine just this week, and I registered right around the time you did.

Yours should hopefully show up soon!

I'm seeing Scott tonight in L.A. I'm hoping for a good, sober show rather than a bad, drunk one. :D
