I am watching Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel and he is in D.C., and was at Ben's Chili Bowl, and they showed a picture of Eddie there, pretty funny. Though, I thought he was a veg?

  • I have been a vegetarian for 17 years and can always find something to eat...even at steak houses...he may have had some veggie chili.

It must be weird to be famous enough to have people talk about what you ate at a restaurant

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this
  • like recently there? for the weeks festivities??
or an old pic from when PJ was in town?

  • i love anthony bourdain! he's such a badass! and i think real chili has beans, but not meat, when you put meat in it it's tex mex and becomes chili con carne, so technically he can eat chili and not eat meat

That's a VERY "technical" description of Chili....and I think you right!

Alot of hippes are veg's. They poison themselves with massive amounts of drugs. What do I have to say about that? I don't care, hippies are awesome.

Anyway, yea...was that a recent pic or from years ago?

A lot of people are vegetarians for reasons other than it being a heathy choice. I'm sure most don't like the idea of eating dead animals, some do it for ethical reasons.

You don't know if he eats meat or not... i don't think he has ever done a public service announcement on the subject.. and who the fuck cares anyways? i could give a rat's ass what vedwards eating habits are... as long as he doesnt eat babies..i could care less
  • What I took away from this thread was that Ed is in D.C, but people are free to focus on whatever they want.

The thread-starter stated "they showed a picture of Eddie there." As in, it was probably up on the wall. Some of those world famous places like to brag about which famous people have eaten there. Obama himself was there just a couple of weeks ago, and it made the news.

Yikes, that's embarrassing. I'm the one who can't read.

So yeah, I always assumed Ed was a vegetarian as well just because I think he was on some PETA sexiest vegetarian list some time ago.

I myself tried out being a vegetarian 8 years ago mainly to see if i had the willpower and I haven't turned back. It was the best choice I've ever made for myself personally.

 well, he did used to wear a rubber band around his wrist that said "meat free"....but on the other hand he wears a lot of leather...and to be honest, I don't care about either...so I don't know why I posted....over-tired I guess...

    Russell Crowe....that's funny...

If you look around the net you'll find that Ed is constantly listed in 'famous vegetarians' lists. It must have come from somewhere but I've never heard or read him talking about it unlike many other musicians, actors etc.

I *slightly* recall an interview with him some years ago, it may have been in Australia for triple J, where the presenter was talking about where they were etc and that Ed didn't want the food cause there was meat in it. This is extremely vague though, perhaps even a dream :?

Anyway..... I believe that he is and that is FANTASTIC.
Morally conscious people will simply not eat the carcass of dead tortured beings. Not to mention the environmental and health consequences of supporting the industry.

Cosmic Slop - right on :)
Once you stop eating meat you don't go back (I quit 2 years ago). The array and taste of wonderful food available just makes you wish you did it earlier. I never loved eating before, but now i LOVE to eat and once you find a great veg restaurant then you've experienced true culinary heaven 8-)

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I had this on my mind today.

It doesn't really matter to me, but he definitely said something at one of the Boston solo shows last year. I can't remember what exactly, but I definitely remember thinking it was the first time I'd heard him mention being a vegetarian. Maybe someone else here knows exactly what he said..?

    It's Russell fucking Crowe.
Watch in high quality and skip to 9:02

Russell does a scene at Ben's for State Of Play, the new movie filmed in DC.

This is the closest to Ashton I've seen in a while. :)

ps... I've been an strict ethical ovo-lacto vegetarian for about 18 years now. I don't know whether or not Ed is, even considering I've seen him listed as one at times, because he's sported a number of leather jackets. who knows.

Yes the greedy mining companies want his land as well. Not much pristine habitat left in Australia, Teri Irwin is fighting to save it.

Crowe comes back to australia to fund a football team here. Virtually takes over it actually. But they've been utter crap most of the time. Pretty funny.
