Being that Disney World in Florida is so great and organized and is a HUGE company and they have thousands of people walk through each day.....I just don't understand why in Magic Kindom, the eating situation is sooooo bad? If you dont make a RSVP before you go there, you cant find a place to sit-down to eat. WTF??
Either walk up to a cart and buy a hot dog or Turkey Leg or your screwed. We did find a place to eat but ya have to wait in line for EVER. ANd thats tuff for a 2 1/2 year old.

End of Rant. ;)
Get em a Body Bag Yeeeeeaaaaa!

Yea, great time. My daughter is in heaven. Today she had lunch with four princesses and she met all the Disney characters. Seeing her happy makes me smile ear to ear. :D
Today we went to Epcot and I was drunk by noon. lol
I am glad my mother and sister are with us so they can help lol

just dont bend over ANYWHERE, no matter what you do. Mickey will try to give it to you from behind. Oh, no wait, you'll just feel that way after paying for your tickets, paying for your food, or pretty much taking your wallet out at all.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

I'm going there in October. I will get my way through the food queue via the subtle method of "sword-swishing"

I'm really looking forward to it... i heard there is an awesome gypsy fortune teller there.

what was Epcot like? if you can remember ;)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • if you didn't have to wait... would you go to the cart to pay for an overpriced turkey leg?

when you go to the cart they don't have to have a waittress for you

or anyone to clean up after your kids

or any additional real estate for you to sit your tired/cranky ass down

    etc, etc

    disney knows what it's doin

You can call and make reservations up to 3 months before (if I remember correctly) and as close as the day of. Make sure to try some of the great restaurants at the hotels too. The California grill on top of the contemporary is great at sunset cause you can watch the magic kingdom fireworks while you eat. I've been to disney world almost 20 times (my parents belong to the disney vacation club) and there really are some cool things there...not just kiddie stuff!

I assume it's hard with the dining there right now because it's a busy time for conventions so you have a lot of large parties booking up the tables.

The magic kingdom doesn't have the best meal options anyhow...and it's the only dry park!

How long did you know you would be going to DW?
I realize this doesn't help, but we always make reservations when we eat at a sit-down place in DL. But, just to make you feel better the food is usually pretty low-quality, so don't feel bad about missing out. You're better off with that turkey leg.
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

take the hopper and go to Pleasure Island. Plenty over there. Jelly Rolls is fun too.

But I agree about Contemporary Grill. Unbelievable view...you can watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom as you're up 23 stories.

Also, please see Fantasmic, behind the Aerosmith ride. Truly awesome. Get there an hour early!

The Coral Reef in Epcot (the living seas) is great for the kids... The food is good too. You sit facing a gigantic water tank, so it seems like you are underwater:)
Epcot has a lot of the better restaurants...Canada's steak house is really good...and the place in France is great too. I wasn't extremely happy with the food in mexico's sit down restaurant but the scenery was very nice.
I agree with the poster above me with jelly rolls...and there is a brew house restaurant at the boardwalk too, and its a short walk from Epcot (thru the back entrance by the countries).
I also recommend the Brown Derby (great cremebrule). And th kids love Sci-fi and Prime-time in MGM (or whatever it's called now).
There are some really great and different places to eat! Just relax and enjoy yourself, don't try to cram it all into one trip, or you'll feel like you'll never see it all. Ohh and the roller coaster in Animal Kingdom is kick ass!!!

for those going this year, my word of advice is to pack a 6-pack of water (for each check-in luggage). The lines for drinks at some parks are ridiculous and they're like $5 a pop for a small botter of water...forget soda. Storing a 6 pack for each piece of luggage you check in (can't carry on liquids) will come in handy--trust me. Don't worry about the weight limit, if you're a few pounds over they'll let u through.

I haven't been to disney in 15 years or so. I remember it being hot as hell and bugging my folks for drinks all the time. I think we used to eat in Epcot.

I've gone in August, March, February and November since 2005 and without question August was the hottest, 95 most days. March was the best, probably 70 each day with no rain, no heat, no humidity, no bugs. November was nice as well.

why not just buy water from the local conveinence store instead of dragging that heavy shit around an airport?

Yeah I would like to go in the spring or fall. I think everytime i went when i was a kid it was August. That's when my Dad had his vacation and we weren't in school so i guess it made sense to go then. But goddamn is it hot there in August. Screw that.

Each time I stayed in a hotel IN disney the toiletries in the room were like any other hotel, they'd replace them when they were gone (that's the reason my parent have a whole drawer full of mickey soap and shampoo) ;)

if you have a rent a car, sure, but many just take the magical express to their hotel resort and rely on the busses to take them from their resort to the park and back to their hotel.

people just shouldn't vacation in florida at all during the summer!!! it's so hot outside that I don't even go out other than to walk from my car to work...i stay inside in the a/c :) and in addition to it being hot, it rains everyday at 3 o'clock. so, if you're going to any of the theme parks...all of the outdoor rides will be shut down for at least an hour.

I only went to Disneyworld once and found all the lines for everything outrageous! My kids were about 14 and 10 and hated it, cuz its really for younger kids than that age range. We went in July and it was too hot for the long lines. I would never go back. Cedar Point is a way better amusement park. I don't mean to dampen your experience, but mine sucked. They did like Universal City better. Or the local water parks. I even liked Universal!
