I seem to be in this weird cycle of going to bed late like somewhere between 2-4am and then waking up for uni @ 8am or so and feeling like total shit and thinking god im going to bed so early the next night. The day goes on and I still feel dire and then towards the evening i guess i wake up or something becuase then even when it is time to go to bed i'm like nah i want to listen to music to just chill out some more with my friends.

Same shit different day until one day where i'm so tired i have to sleep a bit in the day. Guess i gotta get my body clock back!

Anyone else sleeping funny?

Well, when I was at college it had a lot to do with the lifestyle, but I don't think students can afford one of those anymore.
  • oh yeh, I'm sleeping shit these days... can't sleep til 4/5. On nights I try to go to bed early, I lie there looking at the clock for at LEAST two hours til I sleep... but it's strange cos not in a bad way... just thinking about stuff... and it flies in. Somedays I get up when I hear the postman at about 8.30 and think I'm getting into some kinda cycle but the next day I don't wake up til 2pm  it's shit, I can't get a handle on this at all.

Yes!!! All the time. I have never had what one would term normal sleep patterns - even as a baby :( Every now and then I'll manage to sleep normally i.e. 8 hours . . . AT NIGHT; but usually within a few days I'm back to being up all night and sleeping days - feel like a Vampire sometimes. Good-luck to you.

I'm the same... I've never needed 8 hours.. I function brilliantly on 4/5. If I get 8 I feel groggy the next day. I used to sleep about 2/3am and get up at 6 for work and I found that was enough. It pissed me off though cos on a Friday night I'd be asleep about 9pm on the couch (unless I went to the pub). Now the bf needs a nap on a Friday after work and I just can't get my head around it :? It just feels MUCH more natural to me to sleep during the day and stay up at night.

Yeah i hate when you get thinking about stuff, like what you need to do, what you need to get, people you gotta see, people you miss, work that needs doing, shopping that has to be done and other various things etc.

Also doesn't help my flatmates come back with 10 of their other friends pretty much every 4am just pissing around etc, gotta find a new flat me thinks! I can justify the weekend but uni week days it sucks!

So i find myself on the board...until it all dies down grr and i got a test today! And I have tried telling them but they don't listen ;p

it gets ridiculous.. .I started writing a 'book' and I found that the only time I got inspired was when I couldn't sleep.. and all these storylines and scripts would come into my head... so I'd actually HAVE TO get up and type them before I could sleep.

Leave pen and paper beside the bed... it really helps

That's interesting, i get that sometimes, like i don't even write music or even play an instrument these days but i sometimes think of lyrics or good song topics and wish i did!

Yeah it's hard when your body gets in a certain rhythm. Im pretty boring..i go to bed between 10:30 -11:pm every night, maybe slightly later on weekends unless i go out.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
  • I work from 11 am to 11 pm except for every third weekend when I have to work 7 am to 7 pm....it is impossible for me to change up my schedule like that...I just got done working the weekend and I am still exhausted.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

my wife's like that sometimes.. she'll rumble about and then wake me up with all her rumbling... she'll say "its half 2 and i just can't sleep!!" and so i say "well fancy a quickie then" ... "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" is all i hear
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
