So today a friend and I went to Atomic Records today. They're going out of business, which totally sucks, but we took the hour drive there to pay our respects and to see what kind of stuff we could dig up. I grabbed a copy of Vs. and a couple of Zeppelin records and my buddy grabbed a Jeremy 12' picture disc and some other stuff. I kept browsing and my buddy went to check out. When I walked up to the counter, my buddy was like "Hey, what do you think about this?" He had a sealed copy of the "Into the Wild" vinyl marked at $100 that they had behind the counter! I said if he didn't buy it I would, he ended up putting all his shit back and just bought that album. Well, besides having their stuff marked way down, they also give you an extra 10% off if your purchases total more than $50. The total for my stuff came to $49.37 and the people behind the counter said they had a box of 45's in the back corner of the store for a buck, so I went back there to just grab something to get me over the $50 mark. I ended finding a sealed copy of "Mirroball" for $30! It wasn't the steal that my friend got, but I'm still pretty happy about it. On the way home we stopped at a book store that my wife wanted to check out that also has a bunch of used CD's. I checked out the CD shelf while my wife was looking for a book and found the 2000 Las Vegas bootleg for $6.98! Sorry bout the long story, but what can I say? This all made my week!
For any of you in the Milwaukee area that are interested, we were told that Atomic records will be open until around Feb. 21 and they are unearthing different stuff everyday from their basement. If nothing else it's worth it to get one of their T-shirts for a souvenir! Later friends!

Yeah, I know. I'd rather they stayed in business. When I was in high school and working at Dairy Queen, I spent many of my paychecks there. Always cool people there too!
Nice story and its too bad about Atomic Records. I'll have to stop by one more time b4 they close.
Did you stop at Halfprice books after? They have great stuff and great finds.

Yeah! That's where I got the Vegas '00 boot. I bought a cool book about the Rolling Stones for $10 too! Had to be home by 4 o'clock or I could've spent a lot more time there also!
Excellent buy then! I wish we had record shops this side of the Atlantic with a decent selection of stuff. The small one's plastered around Dublin are full of dance/electronica stuff and some standard rock albums and new releases. I remember seeing Riot Act, Vs. and Lost Dogs in a shop in Temple Bar a few years ago and I really regret not getting them now!
