I found this in a magazine called The Hog River Journal, a magazine of Connecticut history. I know it's kind of blurred, so you have to use the zoom.
It was the only way we could scan it and get it on to a link.

    interesting read...who knew?

would be cool if they actually played that song in CT...it's been played at Great Woods and I remember Ed intro-ing the song with a statement about how it was 'a song about someone who was from around here'.

    thanks for sharing
I love to turn you on

    Hey Piper,

Very cool! Thanks for sharing and I always wondered about the story (I thought that it was just a legend).

I've been to his grave site... it's pretty eerie... actually I would never go back b/c it freaked me the fuck out...

Sparta Cemetery in Ossining, NY... it was extremely hard to find and once we found it we went in, found the grave marker, said "cool" and left... very weird vibes in that cemetery for sure and I'm not even superstitious or anything.

here's a picture of his grave marker... not taken by me, wish i had my camera on me that day, but we were just passing through and decided to check it out on a whim.

on a related note, since stephenflow had the name of the cemetery, i just checked for him on findagrave.com and someone made a memorial for him http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=66361&GRid=10790490&
but stephen's photo is better, you might want to submit it!

Where is that in Ossining? I'm so going this weekend. I can add the photo to the one Karl Marx's on my phone...

All of your feedback on this has been great. I am so glad I put this on. Thank you, Stephen Flow, your reply was a mind-blower, just great.
My sister is a librarian, and she is always giving me these obscure magazines. When I came across this article, I was amazed. This really seems to be the guy in the song.
    Thanks Everybody!
