Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Chooses New Inductees

Run-DMC, the rap group consisting of Jason Mizell, Jason Simmons and Darryl McDaniels, will be among the artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The rappers (Mr. Mizell died in 2002), along with the group Metallica, will be inducted at a ceremony on April 4 in Cleveland, the hall announced on Wednesday. Others to be installed are Jeff Beck, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Bobby Womack and Wanda Jackson in the early-influences category, along with Bill Black, D. J. Fontana and Spooner Oldham as sidemen. The ceremony, which will be in Cleveland for the first time since 1997, will be broadcast live on Fuse TV. A limited number of tickets will be available to the public for the first time in the foundation’s history during a one-day walk-up sale on Jan. 24 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame box office in Cleveland and through Ticketmaster beginning on Jan. 26.

    Congrats to Spooner....seen he play with the Drive-by Truckers a couple of times....Jeff Beck....Metallica...the others I don't really care about..not everybody thinks that the Motown sound is the end all and be all of popular music.Jann Wenner needs to realize that the musical world does not revolve around his taste....the HOF needs to recognize bands who's music Mr. Wenner does not like...I talking about Rush, King Crimson, Yes, Peter Gabriel and Genesis. In fact, Mr. Gabriel actually called Mr. Wenner out in the recent history of Genesis.

    To quote the Sex Pistols. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a "piss stain." And for the record any so called rock hall of fame without The Replacements is a sham.
