Pearl Jam/Tim Bierman NY Times

“People will complain about everything,” said Tim Bierman, the manager of Pearl Jam’s Ten Club, which is run in-house by the band. “We might hear a whole day’s worth of criticism about a particular shade of color for a T-shirt.”
But fan club managers say artists are aware that fan clubs are their most loyal audience and strive to reward them. The Ten Club offers members perks like an exclusive new single at Christmas.

It usually meant the big things were being taken care of.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...
That's because it was one freaking ass ugly shirt color.
we get a single at Chrismas? I thought we got it in march
I can picture the expression on Tim's face!
Reading the article...it does appear scary on the surface. Demanding interaction from the band members themselves on the internet? To a point, I can understand that - to get a feel of what or where they stand or what they got to say. But as far as interacting with the fans themselves on the internet? Ok, that's scary! How can you expect them with over 50,000 fans??
With the growing usage of the internet, people do get to the point where they expect a lot from the band, demanding more from them.
I'm guilty myself.
Thanks for the laughs, Tim!
I'm glad that he knows that it's really more than just the shade of colors!

I never complain about anything. What's wrong with these mods??
You'd think they have something better to do.
They just need to do their jobs and shut up.
cOoL!.. yet most likely not to arrive at Christmas..not that I am complaining...~

I don't envy the job that the mods have on the board here, especially these recent days that are full of complaining about anything and everything. I'm continually surprised that they can handle this job, while remaining decent and maintaining their sense of humor...
I know I need to step away at times because all the bitching gets to be too much...that's an option they don't have.

You know that I have never bought a pair of those socks but the truth is that every person i've spoken to that has them says they are the most comfortable thing ever! I might just splurge at the next merch table and buy me a pair of $15 pair of socks
I don't quite like the color though...

I've received the 4th of July single, the president's day single, the Memorial Day single....but I haven't received the Christmas single in many years.
but seriously..
this lady who wants a refund after she couldn't get tickets that the Miley Cyrus fanclub offered to "do their best" for.. ok, lady its $30 bucks and do some research and read the fine print before you sign up for something..
we had Paul McCartney play in town on July 11.. huge outdoor thing in the middle of the city.. given the age of some of the fans, the promoter said "ok we'll allow lawnchairs but only the fold-in-a-bag kind" and the details were available online at the ticket purchase site that clearly stated the seating area for lawn chairs would be BEHIND the general admission standing area.. well the shit flew when people arrived onsite and found out to sit they had to be back some distance, they couldn't park their ass by the front of the stage.. some 200 chairs were abandoned on the concert site that day.. some probably because someone didn't take the time to READ.
and how to do it right

lol yah... no comment.
go back to American Apparel t-shirts! they're made in the good ole U.S.A. too!
For chrissakes, woman! Buy some! The pair I bought in '98 don't make many appearances, but when they do... Woo boy are my tootsies happy!
nothing like a good sock.
