I would put myself in this category. I am either at a show, thinking about a show, listening to music, or thinking about listening to music. Even at work I am thinking about music.

I listen to music when I wake up. Think about it all day at work. When I get home I either go to a show or listen to music. And I listen to it before I go to bed. Its the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about as I head off to sleep.

Yeah pretty much all the time. I listen all day at work, when I work out, my long ass commute. So I guess then only time I don't is when I'm not sleeping.

I listen to music pretty much whenever I can. When I go shopping I have my ipod, travelling or at home bumming around. Music is the great calmer for me.

  • Right now I am charging my iPod, listening to music on my computer, while searching for live stuff on you tube, and have a completely different song in my head.

If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this

I kind of made it a point to surround myself with music at a younger age. Now I work for a music manufacturing company and play in a pretty serious band. On top of that i'm usually listening to something when i'm not a work or practice/show.

I'm surrounded for sure. It was all in the plan. haha

it almost all that i do!! i listen to music when i get ready for work, when i'm at work...all day long :D

i'm thankful that my company places a strong emphasis on blending music and fashion, and being on the cutting edge of both. two of my passions in life together in one place...i STILL have the best job ever! we get new cds on almost a weekly basis from all kinds of genres...we then get to play whatever we want from that playlist. it's made me the best in-store dj ;)

I have to confess that one of the drawbacks of being a gigging musician constantly exposed to music is that it can have the adverse effect of making you want to do anything other than listen to music in your spare time. After years of surrounding myself with music of different types, I latterly find myself reading books and newspapers, surfing news sites or listening to the BBC World Service.

I think this is quite common in many spheres or professions, where you find yourself becoming uninterested in the very thing you do. I once met a literary critic who was reading a PC manual. I asked, "Are you deconstructing different forms of narrative discourse?" He said, in all plainness, "Nah, and my computer's not even knackered either. I'm just sick of reading prose fiction. It's what I do all day for money."

Having said that, PJ and Hendrix are perennial old favourites.

These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

I often sleep with music or TV turned on in the background(lightly not loud though). I'm just used to hearing noises growing up as a kid.

I have to consciously tell myself to occasionally leave music off. I have a tendency to be listening to something constantly.

I pretty much do. Today for example...school run and to work, Ray Lamontagne. Ay work, Arrow Rock Radio. Home from work, Ray Lamontagne. Back home, apart from a 2 hour break for nap and watching Scrubs, I've had albums by Joe Bonnamassa, Nirvana, Pearl Jam (Lost Dogs...and disc 2, twice) and now Iron Maiden (my boy loves 'em)
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

Not quite, but I'm up there.

Books are the other love of my life. Listening to music while reading has never been easy for me, so I have to split my time between my two passions (and, you know, work . . . other necessary evils).

Well, that's certainly true for me. I never listen to classical music. I've gotten so bored with it. I finally had to admit to myself that I enjoy the project of learning the new pieces, but I'm pretty much sick to death of going to concerts I'm not in. :?

That's probably why I listen to rock music constantly instead. :D

Completely. And I just can't seem to get enough, especially in the show category....
