Looking at getting a new phone.. I have At&t now and I am switching over to Verizon(my wife is on that so our calls will be free now, plus I get 15% off my bill). So with all that being said. I was looking at maybe getting a Samsung Gyde or a LG Voyager. Anyone have any of these phones and could you let me know if they are any good or not?

I can only share with you my experience regarding LG and Samsung phones in general. I had an old-school LG (no camera phone = "old school" :P ) and I replaced it with a Samsung. I'll be heading back to an LG phone next time I get a new one. The sound quality on the Samsung is terrible (distortion at higher volume levels) I couldn't use my old ringtone on it because it sounded like dog doo on this phone. The crappy instruction book - had to find a lot of things by screwing around, plus the annoying default settings (one-minute beep was turned on) really annoyed me.
I liked the LG for its sound, durability, and, in my opinion, a better UI.

But that's just me. Good luck.

I have the LG Voyager. I mostly like it. It's not an iphone, as much as I wish it were. BTW - when you buy it online, it'll save you probably $50, versus placing an order by phone or in a store. I don't know why Verizon undercuts their stores, but they do.

The keyboard on the inside is extremely convenient for typing. I even post on this board from time to time with it. Still waiting for iphone to become a Verizon product in another 3 years, but for a phone that does internet, it does pretty good.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

  • I got the LG Dare a couple of months ago, and I like it a lot. I just think that the voyager is a bit bulky.

But if you do A LOT of texting, the voyager's keyboard might be better. The Dare has a virtual keyboard which works pretty well, but not as good as a real on.

I am new to verizon(september) and got myself and the wife the ENV2...Like them alot. Better than anything else I looked at. If you are a text person, I highly endorse this phone.

I have the pearl. I love it, its easily the best phone I've ever had. It lags like a bitch time to time but oh well. What ever you do, do NOT buy the moto q. It sucks beyond belief, nothing but problems with it. I went through 5 or 6 of them. ( I will admit I don't take care of my phones, i throw them around alot and stuff) The Blackberry though, is built like a brick. Its very reliable and the battery is amazing. If you don't want a Pearl I suggest the curve. I dont know too much about the Storm since its totally new and completely different from any other blackberry.
