Steelers versus the hated Baltimore Ravens for a trip to the Super Bowl. This really is what the playoffs are all about!

Great quote from former Steelers running back, Super Bowl champion and future NFL Hall of Fame member Jerome Bettis from the Jan. 13 edition of the L.A. Times:

"The environment here is really tough," (Bettis) said (of Heinz field). "The weather is bad. The field is bad. The defense is badass. So it makes for a really, really tough day for opposing teams to come in."

    They were talking about this game on the local (Detroit, and yes, unfortunately, I'm a Lions fan...) sports talk radio station yesterday, and one of the guys was like, "Whoever wins this game is going to need the two weeks off before the Superbowl, because these two teams are going to kill eachother."
    I don't care who you are, if you like football, you should tune in for this game!

    yeah, it should be a great game....

    If Ben can keep from turning over the ball, perhaps things should work out...I'm interested to see how Flacco will do under the pressure...

    I do have to say, I'm a bit disappointed the Titans lost, I would have loved to see the Steelers kick there ass at home...

    This is pretty funny from Post-Gazette sports writer Jerry Micco's Jan. 14 on-line Steelers chat:

    Jerry Micco: I'll let Ron answer for Baltimore, but (Pittsburgh) Mayor Luke Ravenstahl I don't believe has anted up anything t. Also, and this is real folks, (Ravenstahl) is changing his name to Steelerstahl today. Only for a few days. And I see he's in the chat room. I don't think the Post-Gazette is going to ID him as Mayor Steelerstahl, but he's exorcising Raven from his name. All politics are local, huh?

    x2, The Birds are gonna crush the Cards in the desert, I despise the Ravens, so yeah, a Turnpike SuperBowl it will be! :mrgreen:
