So I'm in this contemporary poetry class and the professor wants us to bring in examples of poems from rock songs. Which PJ song do you think stands best as a poem (spoken word, without music)?

Black
Unemployable
Elderly Woman
Do the Evolution
Would be my immediate choices I think.
Cropduster
Might not be everybody's favorite Pearl Jam songs, but they are certainly among the most poetic. The first verse of Cropduster sounds like it could have been written by John Keats.
W.M.A works well as a poem, too.
for the least they could possibly do
2) IN MY TREE
3) WHO YOU ARE
4) I'M OPEN (THIS ONE ACTUALLY IS A POEM)
5) MAN OF THE HOUR
6) AROUND THE BEND
7) TREMOR CHRIST
8) BLACK
9) WISHLIST
10) LAST EXIT
in my tree
i got shit
i'm open
I'm still here

i think there are a bunch that work as just poetry.
