Secondary Forms of Income.......

...all prostitute jokes aside....do any of you do something other than your 'job' to earn some benjamins? I am a teacher so am certainly not rolling. I coach as well, and that is some nice supplemental cash. However, I am trying to actually take a summer off to travel and not sell all my PJ prints to make some cash. Any other ideas?

    My extra income always came from my profession, so how about tutoring or teaching a class at a community college or somewhere like that? :)

    UPS is great for part time work (plus you can get insurance from them, which is unheard of for part time workers), delivering pizzas is good, maybe bartending or serving at a restaurant. Also, I don't know if you like to write, but you might find freelance writing/editing gigs if you search around the internet or talk to someone at your local newspaper.

    I sew and sell my work on Etsy. Well, I used to. It was great for making a bit of extra $$'s. And it was fun. But I guess that only works if you're into making stuff (and are really good at it)

    Wait tables at a pizza place.

    I took a 2nd job waitressing at a local Giordanos-- wound up staying over a year when my bills were paid off in 3 months. I had a 'regular' 8-5 job and I slung pie Fri-Sat and Sun nights. It kept me out of trouble and I made great friends there. It's easy, too.. pizza and pitchers of pop/beer and I made at least $400 a weekend. Stressful at times but I'd rather have that kind of stress than the stress of bills or wondering how to pay the rent.

    Well, if you're looking to take two months off during the summer, you'll have to work after hours (obviously) to make up for it. Perhaps tutoring, or working a late shift in a retail store. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

    If anyone could bring in extra income, it would be a teacher. Of course, the fact you want the summer off puts a bit of a damper into your free time. Why don't you tutor?
