    I've decided to (ok, really been forced) to give this new board a try. It seems ok - I just hate change! Maybe I'm getting old :(

    I guess you could call me an old timer checking in. I'm not crazy about this place but I'm sure it will grow on me after awhile. Just have to remember to hit 'submit' not 'save'. did that a minute ago and I have no idea where that draft went!
    believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

    They're not allowed here. Haven't you heard? This is a pay to play board now... only 10c members can post. That leaves a lot of the cool folks from the old board out in the cold. It was a pretty cool move :roll:

    Yep, it's going to be bleak for awhile as many won't or can't move over. :( I'm sure it will pick up some after the 15th when the pit closes for good.

    i would think the "regulars" would already have been in the 10C... but i guess maybe you're right... if it was an attempt to force people to join i dont think its gonna work... plenty of other boards to go to... dont think that was their intention though... maybe to limit trolling? which wasnt that big of a problem to begin with... it makes sense to me that it should be members only since the club pays for and is in charge of the board... but it sure is a shame if people are turned away

    yea but your forgetting alota regulars are older now and have kids or just dont see the need to pay 20 bucks every year for a band there maybe gonna see 1 or 2 times a tour.yup there a lots of boards to go to RM or pearljamboots.com to name a few or make there own board on proboards.com which is what a few groups of members have done.

    I always assumed they paid for the old place as well. Maybe it was becoming a burden... that place did get a lot of traffic. I still don't like it though. I think you'd be surprised how many people are not in the 10c... I plan to let my membership lapse next time around. I just don't see it being worth it anymore.

    they very well may come back here to read the news but they won't buy a membership just to be able to post. They can read the forums but cannot post. I personally think it was a lousy decision to limit it to only paying member. just my opinion.
