He's coming to my city at the end of the month and I'm thinking of checking him out. What should I listen to first?

  • doesnt really matter since all of his stuff sounds EXACTLY the same... ive heard its a fun show the first time around though so i dont mean to scare you off of it... which ever album has "freaker by the speaker" is my favorite of his... i havent really listened to him since HS though so i cant recall

i could probably find a link to his "grunge grass" live stuff if youre interested in hearing some PJ, nirvana, etc. covers

Going to see Keller is definitely alot more about the performance aspect of the show, rather than the content. As the previous poster stated, most of his stuff is pretty redundant. But if you enjoy bluegrass/folk/acoustic music, I imagine you will like it.
If you decide to buy one album though, check out Laugh. It has a lot of good tracks on it.
If you are just looking to spend a few bucks on individual tracks, my recommendations would be Bob Rules, Dance of the Freek and Sing For My Dinner.

Also, as a side note, if you are still on the fence about him after you see him live, don't give up on him yet. If he comes back through your area in the summer, and you get a chance to see him at an outdoor venue, check it out. I like the vibe of his shows much more when you get to see them outdoors.

    Hope you enjoy the show!

I enjoyed listening to it. there are so many good shows on archive.org if you are into the whole jamband thing.
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.
