Why can't I change my avatar?

I know I am not the most technically adept person, but I should be able to figure this out. I browse and pick a photo and hit Submit and it looks like its uploading, but then nothing is there.

Anybody got time to outline in very simple terms what I need to do, or at least give me some ideas on what I am doing wrong?

    It could be that it exceeds the size limit(dimensions are 100x100 and the maximum size is 30 kB. ) I know I had trouble and then i resized my pic.

    Thanks libragirl. I am so stupid or should I say technologically ignorant that I can't figure out what they mean by size 100 x 100. 100 what? I look in properties on my photo and it is less than 30kb, but for the life of me I can't figure out the size thing. I must be missing something really obvious, or I am end-of-the-week/ sinus infected brain dead.

    Try opening it in a picture editor and hitting resize. Im the same way I never know what the sizes mean. I hope you feel better, sinus infections are nasty. :cry:

    I just re-sized mine after having trouble... now it works :mrgreen:
