I could care less that the video is about Obama, this is just a small example of the idiots that are choosing who screws our country up. These kinds of uneducated people are on all sides voting for all parties. Sort of angers me greatly. Thoughts?

So who gets to decide who gets to vote and who should not be able to vote? Only 'smart' people should get to choose? Isn't that something a 'elitist' would say?

Literacy tests? Sure they have a bad name because of what they were used for initially, but I'm not above using some sort of qualification for voters... how about you have to have a high school diploma or a GED? That's a pretty low bar, but at least it's something.

I'm something of an elitist. Humans are fucking morons by and large, Americans being no exception. They're dumb, short-sighted, limited herd animals and they need to be coralled and guided by those with brains.

Then the people and advisors in Dick Cheney's office should be not be included in the voting process. They seem to believe the Office of the Vice President of the United States of America is not part of the Executive Branch of government. (ref. http://oversight.house.gov/story.asp?ID=1371 )
And Sarah Palin said that the Vice President runs the Senate. (ref. http://kdka.com/topstories/sarah.palin. ... 46285.html )

Everyone should vote. What you get is a balanced outcome. Although I have never met a person free of moronic moments, including myself, we are progressing overall. I have faith that people generally do the right thing eventually. The learning process leads to moments like the 2nd Bush administration, but it also leads to moments like the Obama administration, which show that learning and self-correction do take place. The bias that the book smart = the truly intelligent is something that needs to be done away with.

    I guess that's a problem. How about a quiz?

Is Barack Obama a Muslim terrorist? Is he going to end War in Iraq immediately upon taking office?
Is John McCain the Christian candidate that Jesus would vote for? Is John McCain a member of a secret anti-Justice League plotting to rule the universe?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you don't get to vote because it's clear you don't have any fucking clue what the candidates stand for or what reality is.
  • no worries, not like their vote mattered..What is the point in our voting? It's a waste of time. Not like our votes count for anything.

well there are plenty of anti obama people who would say anyone who voted for him shouldn't have a vote. That's why there are opinions and that's why everyone has a vote... if we all agreed, there'd be no need for a vote.

The war question weeds out Obama supporters... if you think he'll end the war, you don't get to vote because that's not what he said. The question about McCain being part of an evil league bent on world domination also screens out pro-Obama leftists with no grasp of reality. I'm equal opportunity when it comes to morons not voting. It's not just a "republicans shouldn't vote" thing.

well it's not just intelligent people who are represented by the government so it's a no brainer really. Even morons deserve representation... not just 'special people' like you ;)

Sure they do. The problem is most of them are too stupid to have any grasp of the real problems or how to fix them. They think the country's problems will be solved by free guns for everyone at birth and a giant painting of jesus holding the 10 commandments in every courtroom. Or they think the country will be saved by pc language and no-smoking/trans fat ordinances.

Why do you think we have REPRESENTATIVE democracy in the first place? The framers weren't dumb. There's no direct democracy because people are dumb herd animals and we need to make sure they don't meddle. Otherwise you get things like the ridiculous ballot initiatives all over this country. The problem is, in the framers' day, they had ways of screening out bad voters... you had to have property or education or be able to read or whatever. There's nothing like that anymore. Now the masses are in charge and look what's happening to this country... most of us believed Iraq planned 9/11... it's depressing.

Listen... If people did research on both canidates then people would know that they were both poor choices. I am sick and tired of the lessor of two evils choice for our country. We deserve better than someone that is bought and sold before he puts his hand on the bible tomorrow...

  • His hand is going to set that bible in flames..LoL okay maybe not that extreme, but it ain't right he get's sworn in on the bible used for Lincoln. Nobody should, what makes them so special for that honour?

But I made a post saying our votes aren't worth a penny. The only votes that count come from the electoral college. Random lawyers, teachers, judges, etc that none of us elected to represent our voice. How you think Bush got in twice, and Obama's win was announced so early?

if that's how they believe the country's problems are solved... well maybe it works for THEM. I strongly disagree with guns but some people strongly disagree with me on that... we're never gonna agree but it doesn't make them any less entitled to an opinion than me... unfortunately ;) If you believe they're not entitled to vote, then you believe you're better than them. They probably believe they're better than you... and this kinda thinking is going to get nobody nowhere and fast :D

They're entitled to their opinion, but that doesn't mean their opinion should count. I'm entitled to voice my opinion as to the proper way to conduct brain surgery on my neighbor, but the neighbor still might prefer to have an actual brain surgeon doing it. Just because an inbred moron thinks he knows what's best for the world doesn't mean we should do what he says. By all means, let everyone voice their opinions, but let's have the people with some capacity to choose course wisely actually dictating the action.

Also, your argument has a significant flaw: I don't believe I'm better than them. I KNOW that I AM better than them ;)

ps. Does anyone else think the new winking face looks as deformed as the one guy in the Goonies?
