why is everyone hating on gone?...i love that song...just tonight I've been scrolling through these threads and i noticed that a lot of people find it to be not so great of a song...now everyone is entitled to their own opinion and so am i, but i'm curious as to why those of you who feel that Gone is a "dead weight" (i got that from someone who posted on a thread) feel the way you do?

    I love this song, the lights of the city they only look good when I'm speeding gonna leave all behind because this time I'm gone, so gone this time I'm letting it go of it allllll yeah!!!

    I love Gone! One of the best songs on the album.

    thank you...i just find it odd how it seems to be the least favorite...on avocado at least...if i had to choose a least fave on avocado (which i love them all) i would probably say it would be wasted reprise...not because of the song itself, but because it's too short to be a regular tack, it should have been one of the songs you hear 30 seconds or so after the initial song ends...i just don't see what people have against gone

    for some reason i can't get into this song when the whole band plays it.......but when Eddie does it solo its amazing! I was at the borgata show in 2005 when he played it after writing it the night before and it still gives me chills listening to it. The whole place just stood quiet listing to this tune that no one had ever heard before. I've also heard it during his pre-sets a couple times and love it everytime.

    The version of Ed doing it solo from the AOL sessions is absolutely breathtaking IMO.

    the least favorite of avocado is Parachutes. That song is so bland.

    I tend to vacillate depending on my mood when it comes to some PJ songs. There are ones I just can't stand, and then one day I'll re-listen to them and think they're the absolute greatest. Some phrase or riff or something catches my ear in a way it never has before, and I can't get enough of the tune. Gone was one of these songs for me. I can't even tell you why I didn't care for it for a very long time. And even more strange, I don't know why one day I started to really like it. Must be hormonal!!!! lol
    I wish a guy like Eddie, would like me.

    thats exactly how i was with, brace yourself... Porch! i dont know why i didnt care for it the first time i heard it, now its one of my favorite songs...
    In July 2007 Densmore said that he would not rejoin The Doors unless it was fronted by Eddie Vedder. Densmore says, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer."

    Gone is the one pearl jam true album song that I cannot listen to without cringing. I am one of those...Someone said that parachutes was bland....It was my first instant love on the album. Different strokes for different folks. :?

    The name gives it away. They wasted a reprise on such a short track.

    Also, Gone is indeed awesome.
