It's tough to pull for them, given that I'm an Ohio State fan and Urban Meyer might be the biggest douchebag in college football, but I am. Why? I want to see Oklahoma humiliated. I'm sick of the shit Ohio State takes every season for being overrated when Oklahoma has a worse BCS record and has been blown out even more than OSU both times the Sooners got title game appearances. But God forbid anyone talk shit about Oklahoma or call the Big 12 suspect.

haha. the big 12 hurry up offense destroyed OSU and they weren't even running it the whole game.

OU will do the same to the Gators. Tebow can't pass anyway.

Destroyed? Didn't Texas win that game on a touchdown pass with less than 20 seconds to go? Ohio State led at halftime and in the 4th quarter. How does that count as destroyed? Speaking of... how many points did Oklahoma lose to Texas by again? Oh yeah... 10... 7 more than OSU did. And that Texas team gouged Oklahoma for 21 more points than they did OSU, so someone might want to worry more about how their defense will hold up than gloating over another team's 3-point last-second victory over a team that doesn't have half of Florida's talent...

The Sooners lost 55-19 to USC last time they were in the championship... I think that sounds like a good prediction for this year's game ;)

no need to bring up USC. they got lucky.

I didnt' see Texas really run the hurry up till the 4th quarter...when OSU really had no answer. I was actually going for OSU till the announcers started trash talking the big 12. about the time Texas got serious about the game. and then went on to win easily. they gave mccoy 2 minutes, it was over when osu scored.

you think OU has half of Florida's talent? haha. yeah, best tight end in ncaa-Gresham destroys defenses, they have one of the best wide outs in iglesias, and their backup Rb is better than most in college. If murray was playing it wouldn't even be a contest. guess they can just rely on oh yeah, that guy that won the heisman, Bradford.

it will be a good game.

    41-17 OU.

This is why I'm rooting against OU. Ohio State loses to Florida and it exposes the fact that they never have been and never will be a good team. OU loses to USC 55-19 and it's just because USC is "lucky"? Please, could you explain to me what about each of those 55 points was lucky?

The talent comment referred to Ohio State's defense vs. Florida's. Texas was cut to almost half the points they scored against OU by OSU's defense, and Florida's defense is even better. Plus, the way the SEC plays defense, the uptempo offense won't help too much like it did against the Buckeyes. And Florida was rolling up the same kind of points against SEC defenses that OU did against Big 12 defenses (if you can call what they play "defense"). I'll be shocked if this game is even close at halftime. I'm thinking Florida has an easy 20 point lead.

when I was saying no need to bring up USC I was actually saying no need to bring up USC. every team has a bad game.

I don't think the Texas performance against OSU is any indication of how the big 12 can play. Texas didn't even look like they were even really playing till later in the game. they got fired up later on, and really dominated the later part of the game.

but no, florida did not put up the same kind of numbers that OU did. not even close. In fact, few teams in the history of college football have put up those kind of numbers. this is one of the best offenses in college football history, period. the numbers prove it.

I want to see how bradford reacts to a little pressure...which I am not sure florida can produce given OU's o line. but put him under some pressure, will be interesting to see how he handles it. I also want to see how OU's defense handles florida if they're rested. OU scores in 2 minutes, their defense is on the field the entire game. I have a feeling florida will slow ou's offense down just enough to give ou's defense time to rest.

that's my take, ou's defense will be the big surprise here. the big 12 is underrated.

Again, you prove why I'm rooting against OU. The USC flop was just "a bad game." OSU-Florida is proof that OSU is a perpetual joke. And now that you're itching to bring up LSU or USC against OSU... let's recall that OU also lost big game to Boise State, WVU, and LSU as well. My point being... why does OU get a pass, people say they just "had a bad game" and the Big 12 is underrated, and the exact opposite is dished out to the Buckeyes? Forget that.

Last I checked, Florida was scoring 40 and 50 points against everyone they played this season too, and they were better teams than the ones OU did it against.

As to Texas-OSU... Texas's second half drives took several minutes apiece, not exactly 2 minute-drill offense. And then OSU scored a few touchdowns themselves to take the lead back... again, how is that dominanace? Yeah, Texas came up with a miraculous 2-minute drive and won, and I'd agree they're the better team. But anyone who watched that game knows it could have gone either way... Texas was far from dominating anyone.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma State also got their high-powered offenses checked in bowl games. Northwestern (a Big Ten punching bag) almost beat Missouri, one of the Big 12's supposed "elite" teams going into this season. They needed an overtime miracle to score a winning TD on a mediocre defense.

You guys are in trouble. Texas had the most sacks of anyone going into this bowl season, and they didn't get at the OSU quarterback a fraction of the times LSU, USC, and Florida did in their last few big games. Big 12 defense is a joke and Florida will be lighting OU up.

Furthermore, we've all seen how Bradford responds to pressure... we watched them lose their only close game to Texas. Florida is going to rattle him so hard he won't be able to see those receivers, let alone throw to them.

It' s funny reading this, I will be curious to see about tonights game. Florida has played against and scored against really good defenses week in and out. I will be curious to see what Oklahoma does against UF. Say what you want about the SEC and this being a down year for them, right now, a down SEC year is still better than most conferences. And I am a big ten guy, Michigan being my team. The Big Ten is sucks right now. So far, the Big 12 has not shown much in the bowls. I know, they killed me in my pools when I picked them to win most games. Everyone is harping on Alabama for losing, but Utah is way better than everyone thinks, I actually saw them play more than 2 games. USC may be the best team and have the most NFL talent, and they crushed Penn State. What it really comes down to, is that until there is a playoff, there will be no definitive answer. It is going to be the same problem next year. USC, Florida, Alabama and Texas will all be stacked again. Ohio State and Penn State will beat up on a bad big ten. The Big East and ACC will be average.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
  • USC should be playing in this game. Or...a 4 team playoff. Texas, USC, Okla, Florida. Again USC would take them all.

time for the Sooners to defeat the Gators!

actually, i suppose i should pull for Gators since my beloved KU is a Big 12 team and OU winning does not help us in the recruiting battles. however, i am still a Big 8 fan and i hope that OU whips the Gators

As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

That we will. Got to give OU credit, their defense has held up far better than I would have expected. And Florida has come up with the big stops when it needed to, but OU has been driving the ball pretty much at will otherwise. Still, it's a tight game at halftime, which is more than can be said for the last two title games and that's going to hurt OSU no matter what the outcome is now.

Just glad it was a pretty good game, Utah has a big argument to make, they played Bama as well as Florida did. Hopefully in a few years there will be a playoff.

Yeah, that was some clutch defense. And I don't think anyone anticipated this being a low-scoring defensive battle. I was pretty impressed by OU's defense, tbh. They were far better than I gave credit for. Tebow is a beast though and he's tough to stop... he's got a lot of heart and passion and it's a lot of fun watching him play.

That said, the dude above me was right... those announcers were kissing so much Tebow ass I wondered if they got paid every time they said his name or something. You'd think he was Ghandi or something they way they talked about him.
