Has anyone found how to change how many posts show per page when you're in a thread? I can't find the setting anywhere.

I don't see that option here either. Maybe it transferred over from the pit? :)

I hope they activate that option soon.. hate to have to change pages every few posts, and with images allowed, it's going to get worse.

multiple quotes is going to muss things up too

one thing about RM that i don't like... when people start quoting each other and you have 18 quotes within one post

yeah.. if you had the quotes 'expandable', so you could see the last part of the quotes only but could click on something to see the whole previous, that would be 8-) .

having only the last quote as in the old board otoh made for tricky conversations in busy threads.

I always try to cut down the quote to the part I'm referring to, at least in long posts.

i just got this error elsewhere

You may embed only 3 quotes within each other.

this is going to get ugly if people are expected to clean their own

    That's what she said

well, 3 is not too bad.

Another thing I wish was back is some sort of sign to distinguish the threads you've already replied to (I can't see anything).
Particularly useful in the busy period when 10 people make different threads about the same thing.

I always found it far more useful than highlighting the 'busy' threads (never saw the point in that)

i think the coloring of the PJ logo has something to do with it??

as well as... there is a View your posts link
    search.php?search_id=egosearch

I always use that one at RM... and now it's here.. .yay ;)

i also love that it's called an "egosearch"

How many posts per topic do you feel should be on a single page? This would include quoted posts, images, sigs, etc. Also to be considered are people with slower connections, possibly dial-up, and all PJ fans around the world.

    What do you think? :)

    Hi Kat!

It sounds like there is one setting behind the scenes that you set for everyone? meaning there no longer is the possibility of people selecting Number of Posts to Show Per Page in their profile?

If that's the case I would say 20. I think that's what RM does and I find it manageable over there most of the time.

And with the 3 quote maximum here - i think that would help a great deal. Although I would vote that the 3 gets bumped to 5.

    Just my 2 pesos.

Thanks for allowing us to contribute.

well, it's best if it's selectable..some like short pages, some less pages.

Wow, I feel so special! :D Hehe
I, too, think that it'd be best if it's a multiple option item (10, 20, 30, etc). That way, we can base it on our own connections, etc.
If that's not possible, then I suppose 20-25 would be good enough. And that would be 20-25 individual posts, no matter how many quotes or images are contained within. Anything less just makes it a task to go through certain threads. And we shouldn't have to work for our addiction to message boards!! ;)

That said, I do love a lot of the recent changes! Things are coming along quite nicely!
