Help with a PJ related tattoo...

Waiting To Inhale

I'm not sure how to post a pic on here but there is one in my profile of my back piece that I have started. It is of Mt Rushmore but with Eddie, John Lennon, Bob Marley and Neil Young as the faces of the mountain. I am going to get a quote put underneath and I'm not 100% set on what. Right now I'm thinking "You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one" from Imagine....but I am open to suggestions. Hope I can get some from the PJ Jamily.

PS I haven't logged on here forever....wow has it ever changed lol

Love the tattoo...great idea...I also think you should stick to the Lennon quote...I love it and I think it works perfectly with the piece.

i don't think you should use a specific musicians quote (especially not from one of those 4 since they are on the tat already) i'd use an american quote...like "Give us you tired your poor your huddle masses yearning to be free" (if i got that right) or "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" or you can fudge those two to make it music related "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Rock & Roll"

I agree with this. I would use a quote about music.

Like "Music is the poetry of the air" (or something far less cheesy)

well i think he should play on the fact that he is using Mt. Rushmore...though it's obvious it is Mt. Rushmore, somepeople may not get it...so an American quote could be used to continue the theme of Mt. Rushmore and make it music-like to keep the music theme tied into it as well...so there's the one i said before...there could be others as well...look up American quotes and see which ones you can fudge to make it look "musicified"

Thanks alot for the suggestions...my next session is on Jan 17th so I still have a week to figure things out. I'm also planning on covering the PJ cross above it (it just doesn't fit with the back piece plus it is inferior work compared to the artist I have now) and put a night back ground with stars and the moon. I already have a sun rising over a wave on my shoulder so I thought a night scene would be a nice contrast to that. If I do the night scene in my next session I'll have more time to finalize a quote to go underneath. I really like some of the ideas and would love to hear a few more.

So I ended up going with my original idea of "You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one"....it looks really good. Next up I will get the cross above it covered up with a star/moon night scene. Thanks again for the suggestions.
