I need some advice about games consoles. We are thinking of getting one for our son for Christmas but we don't know much about them.
Which would be the best one to get,Wii or X-Box?
I'm also puzzled by the different X-Box consoles arcade,360 etc.
Any advice would be a great help thanks.

There's the reg white xbox 360.
And the xbox 360 elite, which has a bigger hd and has an already build in hdmi. More expensive.

For online game play, xbox 360 is the way to go. Alot of downloadable content, online play etc..
But, a sweet advantage of the Wii, you can download hundreds of old classic from the Sega Master System, Nintendo 8-bit, SuperNES, Sega Gensis, TurboGraphic 16, Nintendo 64 etc.. Plus, the nunchuks, the controllers, many of games are a pretty good work out.

    How old is your son?
  • neither. tell your son to go outside and play
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today

I love Wii! Does XBox 360 have a controller like the Wii remote, where you can physically do stuff like bowling and golfing to control it? That's my favorite part about Wii. Having never played XBox, I vote for the Wii. :-)

Nope! But there was this one time that I lost a match of Soul Calibur for the Xbox360. Upset, I bowled my controller to the other room. lol

If your son will be the predominant player, go with the Wii. If on the other hand you will be using it more, go with 360, as it is hands down the winner with better games, no "gimmick controls" which leave you doing nothing but waving around the cotrol until your wrists are sore.

Wii is fun for a bit, the trouble is it has maybe 4 great games, whereas the 360 has dozens. Also, if you are looking to get HD performance Wii has no HD capabillty. [It can however output to an HD tv, it just will be standard def.]

The Wii experience 90 percent of the time comes down to minigames collections, and the games have limited online capabillites. 360 has a flourishing online community.
