Media Type- DAT?

Does anyone know what DAT is?

it's kinda general file name....can be a graphic, sound, or text file....just about anything really. Are you leery of what it is...or do you know what it is, and trying to convert it?

Usually comma delimited database files, but file extensions can be anything. It could be .FAG if the developers of the software so chose to do it that way. There are standards which developers usually follow, for example .exe is an executable file and .MPG is the standard extension used by the Motion Pictures Group format of video. DAT is most commonly a database file used in Office or something of that sort.

Well, there's a show that I want from a traders list and underneath the media type it says DAT. I was trying to figure out of it's CD or DVD or what.
