I'm looking to buy a dvd burner and I'm wondering whether an internal or external one would be better.

Also could anyone recommend a specific brand, a preferable connection type or a good place to buy a burner in Ireland?

Anything by Lg, Sony & HP .. take from experience (head over to the Red Mosquito trading forum) .. these are amazing. I have them in internal & external style. These three I trust my discs with. :)

I have an external sony one.
External is more expensive but it's easier if you want to use it somewhere else, etc.
I use mine with a Mac and the connection is fire-wire.

  • Thanks guys.

What about dual layer dvd-r's, are they worthwhile or too expensive to bother getting a dual layer burner?
