Hello, everyone! I am currently experiencing some difficulties with a racing game for the PC, GTR:2. My issue is with Direct X 8.1, and it causing my game not to work, or even load for that matter. Every time that I attempt to run the game, I get an error message saying, "No DirectX 8.1 video adapters found. Contact your video card vendor for updated drivers." I've done everything from re-installing the same version of direct x, to updating to a current version. What am I suppose to do? I would really appreciate any and all help. Feel free to contact me through posting any responses here, or e-mailing me at paracefan2002@mail.com.

Peace,

I assume you also tried direct x 9.0c? Also tried to wipe the dust away? Or checked the card is good installed in the slot?

I also assume you bought the game in the store?

Otherwise, I only can think of re-installing your computer. Works everytime for me.... Unless someone has a better option...
  • No, No, Yes, didn't think about it. Yes, I bought the game from Best Buy. I plan on taking it to Best Buy hopefully this weekend. If you can think of anything else, just let me know, o.k.? Thanks alot!!

have you tried installing the latest card drivers? if it says that the video adapter isnt found, that computer isnt seeing it, that would be a driver problem.
    I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning

Did you take a look over here yet:

  • I want to thank everyone who gave suggestions on how to fix my problem!! I just ended up reinstalling windows on my computer. That solved the problem. I unfortunately lost some VERY important documents, however :( Is there a way to some how get those documents back? The most important document that I lost was my Dad's spiritual Journey talk he gave last year at my Quaker Meetinghouse. I should have renamed my documents folder something else as to not have been deleted. Oh well, thanks again!!

    Peace,
