Hi,

So, I know this is the most basic, rookie question imaginable... and I am actually embarrassed to ask, but in order for me to help some people out I am needing to learn how to copy DVDs.

I have a couple of shows on DVD and am trying to send to others... but I am new to the whole DVD copying thing. Can anyone give me the basics on how to copy these shows?

You can post here, PM me or email me at jamilyman@gmail.com

Thanks

download and install DVD shrink (freeware, 1Mb). This software easily copies any DVD in less than 30 minutes

  • Thank you!! I will try that when I get home.

I just assumed that you could copy DVDs like you copy CDs, with the pre-installed software on the computer.

    Will try that freeware

    Open DVD Shrink
Do: file - open. Select your DVD.
DVD Shrink will analyse the content of the DVD and then you will have several optiosn: you make a copy of the netire DVD or you can keep only the main movie, you can delete some audio trcks you don't need, etc.
DVD Shrink copies to your hard drive or create an ISO file. Then you copy the file(s) created with a burnign software (nero, etc)

    "DVD Shrink Encountered an error?
Rip with the DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 to an .iso image then open the .iso with dvdshrink and process it. Also some other titles if you encounter an error in DVD Decrypter go to Tools | Settings | I/O tab then check Ignore Read Errors. But if you still have trouble ripping rip with dvd fab decrypter then process with DVD Shrink. "

I use DVD Decrypter for all my ripping & burning.
    For burning VIDEO_ts , I use NERO.
For anything else, DVD Shrink will alway's be by your side. ;)
