I got an ipod the fifth generation one with video for christmas, and its weird ive been having trouble with it ever since i updated it. I'll turn it off and then when i turn it back on it wont play any of my music on there, and i either have to restore it which deletes all the music, or restart it which take five to ten times to get it to restart its a ain in the ass. Does this happen to anybody else. I asked on apple.com, but they dont know nothing. Theres no apple stores around where i live to take it in, and would be a pain in the ass to have to send it in to apple to get this fixed. any advice would be abig help.

All I can say is when mine acts up, I just reset it by pushing in the menu and select buttons simultaniously for 10 seconds. Then let it reboot. Also try toggling the hold button back and forth. Thats all I know.

Use the restore tool that actually CLEARS the data (not the standard one), reinstall the newest version of the iPod firmware, and update to the newest version of iTunes. And, if none of those work then install iPod Linux (google it). Not sure what else to tell you though...
