Editing a song?????

I have a song that is 12 minutes long......I want to make a mix and only use the first 5 minutes. The only software I use is Windows Media Player (for playing the tunes) and Roxio (for burning the CD's). Is there a program I can use to edit song length???????

    Try Cool Edit Pro, it's what I use.

    you can use windows movie maker to edit a song...it's not the best option, but if you have a recent version of windows you probably have windows movie maker and it will work for what you want to do.

    I'll have to try this. Does it collapse the size of the file too? I'm looking to separate last tracks and secret songs on all my albums that have that.

    actually...i'll suggest another option...with more features. its free...its audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

    use this to do what you want.

    Nero does this job too. I use it to edit out the long silence between the last track and any hidden tracks on CD's.
