24 bit Falcs won't play for me, anybody know why?

I have winamp woth flac frtonend, but anything I get in 24 bit will not play sound. Anyone know why? 16 bit works fine, just no sound or eq readout on 24 bit.

Is there a plugin I need?

I have that problem on my work computer. I had to install Foobar 2000 and it plays them fine.

Also, you HAVE to convert them to 16-bit before you burn them on an audio CD for play in a home or car CD player as regular CD players cannot play 24-bit.

I concur.... Foobar 2000 is the shit!!! run it both at home and at work... keeps me rocking out no matter where i am!!!

Hi guys!

I installed foobar2000, but when I add a file (in this case "FLAC") and try to convert it (into mp3), the "OK"-button is not ready to be pressed after naming a new folder to save the converted files...so I CAN't convert anything...what am I doing wrong?

my only guess is the version you have does not allow that feature, is it a freeware versoin that maybe only does rips to flac? That is about all I can think of.

Maybe try saving to the same folder?

Thanks for your reply. It IS a free version...didn't think about any restrictions in the possibilities... ...maybe that's it.
