cant get my bootleg to open in itunes?

i just bought a boot, and i can not get it to open in itunes. why is this? what do i have to do to get it to work in itunes? thanks
they call them fingers, but i never see them fing. oh, there they go

    flac or mp3? or maybe a CD

    If it is a download (FLAC) format you will have to convert it. I've used Flac Frontend in the past, which works well. You can find it as a free download online.
