eMule with Avast!/Zone Alarm??

I'm having immense trouble getting my torrents with Azureus and my downloads with eMule to work and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas, cause I was really pissed the day this happened. And, by the way, has this happened to anyone else?

do you have a router? if so, your ports are being blocked. they need to be opened in order for those programs to work. thats one issue.

your other issue, I'm not familiar with, but I remember hearing that zone alarm sucks.

Yea, I have a router...but I'm not sure how to open the ports.

what is the model and manufacturer? it will say it somewhere on the router.
