I want to archive some of my favourite pj shows on cd-r. Where can i find the most durable and reliable blank cd's? I've heard Taiyo Yuden are the best but it's difficult to find genuine TY discs online and in the UK. There are alot of fakes floating around..

i get mine from svp.co.uk
you can pick up Taiyo Yudens from there, but i think that Verbatims are just as good to be honest as they use the same disc dye and they are a lot easier to get over here
Verbatims:

Taiyo Yudens:

Taiyo Yudens are the best hands down... but any retail packaging that says made in Japan is using Taiyo Yudens... avoid China, Taiwan and Mexico.
Check ebay, good deals on TYs there.10.31.93 / 10.1.94 / 6.24.95 / 11.4.95 / 10.19-20.96 / 7.16.98 / 7.21.98 / 10.31.00 /8.4.01 Nader Rally/ 10.21.01 / 12.8-9.02 / 6.01.03 / 9.1.05 / 7.15-16,18.06 / 7.20.06 / 7.22-23.06 / Lolla 070 -
TY's are indeed great, but in terms of archival longevity, these (not necessarily the brand, but the armor coating) are supposed to be the best:

TDK also makes Armor media, but I can only find DVD+/-R's.
Here's a good site for media tests:
