windows deleted

a friend of mine deleted a program off of his computer and it wiped out windows xp as well. is there anything he can do to restore windows. he has a sony vaio and windows was on it when he purchased it and there isn't a backup disc. any help is appreciated. thank you.

    I am pretty sure Sony has a hidden partition which contains all the files needed for a recovery.

    or

    Find an XP OEM cd and boot to it and recover Windows through the console or install Windows on top of itself or fresh install and download the drivers

    If you need files off of it you can slave the drive on a friends PC to get your files off first

    learn how to remove programs the correct way and don't delete them!
    they have uninstallers for a reason!

    I'm sorry, I should have posted that he uninstalled them correctly!
