About delivery of goods

hi...i have a question i want to make a cart for the goods section...but i need to know if i must be who receive the delivery or if it could be someone else....

I have had things delivered to my mother's address because my old apartment's mailbox was too small. Whenever the package was too big for the box, the mailman took it to the front office and if you don't pick it up the next day (even though they don't tell you that you have a package) they will throw it away.

thanks a lot....so then i can set my mother´s adress and if i´m not at home...someone else can receive the delivery....that´s a great new !!!....
