Can anyone tell me in plain English how to copy a dvd to my harddrive then burn it to disc? I'm going round in circles trying to do it, downloaded a few free programs, none of which seem to be working at all.

Cheers!

  • free programs suck. But they do give you a shitload of spyware.

Not to be a smartass but does your have a DVD burner? Because usually if they do, they come with a program already installed.

DVD Shrink has always served me well.

Just make sure you select VOB folders instead of ISO format if you plan to burn it to a DVD disc. You will need another program to write the VOB files to the blank DVD, any burning software should do, but I prefer Nero.

I'd recommend DVD Decrypter, it's freeware but it's been discontinued. You can still find it for download in places, I think there's a replacement now but I've never used it. It's easy to rip the ISO file to your hard-drive and then burn it straight back to a blank. Otherwise you can rip the files (VOBs etc) and then use another program to burn the DVD Video using those files but I don't see the benefit in that.

If your looking for a program to burn those VIDEO_TS folder files .. I would recommend getting Nero.
